March 2012

Dear Colleagues,

I just wanted to share some updates with you. Last week, I went with our teachers to the new children’s Bible class at Esenge. The children had no idea I was coming but jumped up and down for joy upon seeing me. It was thrilling to be there.

Mama Theresa is a fantastic teachers. She reviews the week’s previous lesson. You should have seen the hands that went up when seh asked about that lesson. Made me realize that this is truly an oral society.

As I shared before, the class is opened up to all of the children in the village. There are two cult type churches. Some of these children are attending our class. We are not teaching any doctrine but strictly sharing the Bible stories. Please help us pray that these stories will penetrate the hearts of these children. “May His Word not return void.”

In November when we began this class, I asked our carpenters to build 4 new benches for the church. Last week we had 210 and this past Friday we had 220! Now it looks like we may have to continue building benches – a nice problem to have!

This coming week, we are starting two new classes in town. Since the heavy population is in the center of town only the Lord knows how many we will have.

Please keep these classes before you. Ask the Lord’s protection as we begin and that there will be no obstacles in starting these new ministries.

Your Partners in Congo,
Paul and Marty
