Update from Paul and Marty Law

October 26, 2010 - Lodja

Dear Friends and Partners,

The past few months have been very busy and exciting for us in our ministry here in Central Congo. Let us share a few highlights for your mission minute.

Following our Annual Conference the beginning of August we held a leadership conference in partnership with the International Leadership Institute (ILI) and were thrilled for the opportunity to sow principles of godly leadership into the lives of the 60 key leaders of our Annual Conference. Several Districts have organized local seminars of their own on the same model. We are thanking God for the good that can come from this initiative in the years ahead.

We have made good progress on the new mission for the Tshumbe District. I was back to the building site recently and the church walls are up to Window level all the way around, and nearly to ceiling level behind the podium. I am attaching a couple of pictures to give you an idea of what we are building. The attendance has risen sharply over the past two months and there is now standing room only with more than 500 people attending each Sunday.

Finally, we have received the second installment of financing for the road project that the government has asked us to supervise. We are moving forward full steam with more than 840 villagers now working by hand on the 100+ miles of road that only 5 months ago was impassable. We have repaired or built 9 bridges and the road is once again useable for light traffic and will soon be open to the larger trucks as well.

Marty's children’s ministry is back in full swing and she is now moving into the New Testament stories with her felt graphics and scripture lessons.

Needless to say, we are very busy and fulfilled in all that the Lord is allowing us to be a part of in this land and with the Church here. Thank you all for your prayers and support.
