Our truck is here!!!!

Finally and just in time for the heavy work schedule that we have over the next two months. The new truck has already moved 22 tons of materials and supplies from Bena Dibele to Lodja. That is 150 kilometers over the road that we are trying to repair and make useable for the government. The progress of the road and bridge project has made it possible for the truck to make 5 round trips in two days each over the past couple of weeks.

Now we face the daunting challenge of moving another 25 tons of lumber and supplies from Lodja to Tshumbe to begin putting the new church building up at Tshumbe in time for our Annual Conference on August 3rd. We begin moving the lumber to the Loheyi bridge tomorrow morning. It then has to be unloaded and carried across the bridge until it has all been put on the other side.

Then we will take the truck over empty due to the condition of the bridge and begin shuttling the loads to the ferry on the Lokenye river, where once again the loads have to be taken across the river seperately and the truck taken across empty. At that point the truck can re-load and take everything to Tshumbe an additional 90 kilometers away.

Keep us in your prayers.
