Update from Paul and Marty Law - April 2009

April 15, 2009

Dear Friends,

Matthew 6 - Join in the Sharing!

We would sincerely like to express to each of you our deep gratitude for you who faithfully give each month or quarterly of your tithes and offerings. Seeing your names each month is a huge encouragement. Your gifts enable us to accomplish what He has called us to do in central Congo.

You are...

  • sharing in the Ministry to the Children at the mission and 2 nearby villages.
  • sharing in the ministry of the Children’s Bible Memory Class.
  • sharing in the Translation Work of the Bible Lessons. You will be sharing in the vision of training and in sending out Bible teachers to 12-15 other villages to work with the children.
  • sharing in the teaching of English in both the Girl’s High School and the Boy’s High School.
  • sharing in the ministry when Paul preaches many Sundays in different churches in Otetela.
  • sharing in the construction and hard work involved in putting up a simple village church that will minister to hundreds of villagers.
  • sharing in the Nutrition Program at our local mission dispensary.
  • sharing in the Pastor’s School enabling these students and their families to live while they are in training through the three years of schooling necessary to graduate.
  • sharing in these men supplying the Out Village Churches with pastors in the years to come.
  • sharing in the regular showing of : ‘The Jesus Film’ in village after village. It is a wonderful tool for evangelism.
  • enabling men on our work line to have a job with dignity where they can clothe and feed their children and send them to school. They have a position in the community that they would not have otherwise.
  • sharing yourselves by enabling us to be here. Our very presence in the Lodja area gives our people hope that they would not have.

The picture is of the three girls who have Memorized the Book of James. They have chosen and are wearing their new blouses, skirts and shoes! They have asked that missionaries return and we are here for them because of your gifts.

In Matthew 6, it tells us to give, pray and fast. Some of you give and some of you pray. Could you pray for the children, the children’s workers, the men on the work line, the pastor students, the pastor school professor’s, the children in the memory class, the Bible teachers that God will give us at the appropriate time for the children’s out village ministry, the nurse’s in the dispensary, our superintendents, church leadership, Bishop Yemba and his wife, Mama Henriette, Pastor Kitambala (Paul’s right hand man), and for us that we would be ALL that He would have us to be?

Could you fast for us and for those mentioned above? Would you give up a meal or a day of meals for the work in central Congo? What wonderful things we can accomplish when you give, pray and fast for us!
