Updates from Paul and Marty Law - May 2008

(most current first)

May 6, 2008

Dear Friends,

Perhaps some of you remember my appeal last September for more flannelgraph materials for my children's ministry. God graciously supplied several sets and perhaps more will be forth coming.

Cutting out the 650 pieces of felt from the Betty Lukens materials takes weeks and weeks. I have had several ladies in the states and their church groups do this chore for me which I deeply appreciate. While Aunt Bobbie Johnson was with us at Lodja, she cut out the second set.

We have been translating some of the lessons into Otetela with our translator Kasongo. To complete the 180 lessons will take us perhaps a year or so. We appreciate his ministry with us.

You know it has been on my heart now for about a year to have these other sets so that Kasongo and I can train some young Congolese to become teachers for this ministry.

I will need 5-6 bicycles for this ministry as it is my wish to have each teacher go out to two different villages each week. That way we can have 10 or more villages involved in the children's outreach beside the mission where I teach.

Also, I desire good quality ponchos for their protection if and when they might get caught in the rain.

Paul is trying to design some sort of flannel boards that will fold for easy traveling on the bikes.

We will have the expense of transportation of the sets from the states.

Currently, we have two sets with us in Congo and the others are in the states waiting for the opportunity to get to Congo.

We hope to have part of another ocean container coming to Congo and we hope to get some other supplies for the children's ministry on that.

Supplies such as soccer balls and 8 crayon packs, photocopy cartridges, other toys, etc.

If you would like to participate in any way you can send designated checks to :
