The Appointment Congo ministry is creating a perpetual memorial fund in memory of David A. Law 1945-2013. This fund is for the rehabilitation and/or construction of medical facilities in the Central Congo area, as well as the equipping of such facilities and the eventual training of medical personnel. It was David’s wish that the initial funds go towards the rehabilitation of the Wembo Nyama hospital structure. This is the hospital that David's father, Burleigh Law, helped to build. It is also where he passed away after being shot by a rebel soldier on August 4, 1964.
David's last wish was that even in his death, he might somehow make possible something of substance and lasting benefit for the Atetela people of the Sankuru area of the Democratic Republic of the Congo! This is consistent with his lifelong love for and devotion to the Congo and her people.
